6th State level Chemistry Olympiad-2007 will be held on 9th September-2007 (Sun day) from 11 am to 1 pm all over Assam under the auspices of the Society for Chemical Education,Assam. The Society has selected Birjhora Mahavidyalaya, Bongaigaon as one of the centres to conduct the Olymiad. This year the olympiad will be hels under four categories for convenience of the students as per demand placed by a good number of heads of Institutions.

  • Junior-1 (Code- J1)   for students of Class IX
  • Junior-2 (Code- J2)   for students of Class X
  • Senior-1 (Code- S1)   for students of Class XI
  • Senior-2 (Code- S2)   for students of Class XII

The fee for Junior categories is Rs. 50.00 and for Senior categories is Rs. 100.00

The last date of submission of application form to the Centre-in-Charge is 20th August,2007

    Other Rules and information about Chemistry Olympiad-2007

    1. For each categories there will be 40 objective type questions of 2 Marks each and 4 questions of 5 Marks each. No negative marking for wrong answers.
    2. The questions will be from SEBA,CBSE and AHSEC Syllabi.
    3. The medium of Olympiad will be English,Assamese and Bengali (for Barak valley only).
    4. Students shall have to tick the correct answer from the four probable answer options to be provided for each question.
    5. One answer table shall be provided on the cover of question booklet and students will have to tick the correct answer box.
    6. Students will not be allowed to take away the question booklet.
    7. Neel Kanta Deka Memorial Gold Medal will be awarded to the topper of each category.
    8. Students who will top first three positions in each category will get cash prize of Rs.2000.00 , Rs. 1500.00 and Rs. 1000.00 respectively. The first ten toppers in each category shall receive a packet of books and all those who scores marks above a minimum cut off mark (to be fixed on the basis of number of students appearing and highest marks scored ) will receive a certificate of merit.
    9. The expected date of announcement of result is first week of November and Prize distribution ceremony is first week of December-2007.
